Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter Peter Silk, a professor as well as Anna Silk who is a director, actress, producer, playwright. Some of Anna's earliest memories were playing rehearsals with her mother and watching her work. Silk was a small girl in several commercials. She earned a Bachelors in Arts at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas was active in at least two early theater productions that included Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk moved from Toronto in the month of November 1999, in the month of November 1999 to Los Angeles during the next decade. She met her soon-to-be husband, Seth Cooperman, at an acting training held in Los Angeles, in 2007. In 2009 they were legally married in December of 2009. Following her conversion to Judaism and they renew their vows in the Jewish ceremony on April 10th 2011.
